Wow! Darn that liturgical calendar. I feel like we just put our Christmas stuff away, and here we are. Lent. Although it came upon us quickly, I am not unprepared this year. I have many, many things to pray for and work on and grow in. So many in fact that I forced myself to narrow it down lest I fall victim to the "set-myself-up-for-failure" syndrome that has plagued me before during this wonderful season.
This week has been full of excitement and sadness. Monday morning's news of our Holy Father's retirement set a tone for this Lent for sure.
This week is also the beginning of "birthday season" (not to be confused with the Christmas season that just ended). We have 4 birthdays within 3 weeks of one another. During Lent. Oy!
Here we go!!!!

Goodbye January!
I'm not one to wish away my days, but I'm so grateful to see January 2013 gone. We spent the entire month sick, and for one last hurrah, the youngest landed herself a nice 48 hour stay in the hospital with aspiration pneumonia....again. Yes, January can show itself out the door, thank you very much.
My mom came to help us the day Felicity was released and has been here a week. I'm not sure how the dishes and laundry are going to get done now.
And...because we needed one more thing to do. We got a puppy. But, more on that later, because I'm tired.
