What's New?!

I'm glad you asked. First of all, I've finally succeeded in using the computer "sparingly". I no longer feel the need to check my facebook friend's updates every 20 minutes. :-) What brought this about, I'm not sure. I'm amazed how how many hours there are in a day when I'm using the hours I've been given in a productive way. Yay!

In other news: Brett and I have taken a position with the diocese as the new directors of the Newman Center. Brett's employed on paper, I'm employed through an "understanding" with the Bishop. We have been putting in countless hours getting the place cleaned out and spruced up. Hopefully when the students return next year it will have a different feel and different look. We're hoping to put in many hours now so we can sit back and let the place run on it's own (through the student officers) more or less. It's been a great experience so far. We have so many ideas for the place and have great support from the diocese. We really want to make this a place for the students to grow in their faith and development meaningful and true friendships. Yesterday was spent running errands for the retreat that our fearless traveling nuns are putting on for the students and putting a together of box of activities for the kids to have so we don't have to cart stuff back and forth when we are working there.

The semester is winding down, which means single-motherhood for a couple of weeks. If these allergies would vanish I would be thrilled, but I'm extremely thankful for the green things I've been seeing. I'm not sure what you would call them...buds? Could it be?

Bath Baby!

I had forgotten how wonderful and relaxing it can be to bathe a baby in the middle of the afternoon or in the early evening. Just when the rest of life is getting a little hectic it is nice to draw a nice warm bath and spend some quiet time bathing the baby. Luckily it is just as relaxing for the baby. She loves her baths and I couldn't resist getting the camera out.
This is where I need to mention that I love Veronica's tongue. There have always been certain aspects of each kid that I just can't get enough of. With Veronica, it's her tongue. She has the sweetest little tongue, and I love that it's always sticking out. It must be an age thing because I have a friend whose daughter was born a day before Veronica and her tongue is doing the same thing.

He is Risen!

Happy Easter everyone! We went to the Easter Vigil Mass last night and it was as beautiful as ever. Just pictures today, nothing profound about Jesus's Resurrection although it is indeed profound!

Our Life Lately

Maybe that should read "my" life lately. My life consists mainly of a sweet yet loud baby who likes to scream a lot and be held. She's not what some would call an "easy" baby, but we'll still keep her. So, if it's quiet on this little blog it's probably because I'm spending my days walking around, bouncing up and down, trying to make the boss happy.

Some highlights as of late:

-Aidan got glasses
-We are gluten-free
-We are preparing our home for Easter, but not forgetting that there had to be a "Good Friday" before there could be an Easter.
-I thought it would be funny to dress the sweet baby up in a semi-ridiculous outfit...and take pictures
-Brett and I have been hired to be the Directors of the Newman Center on campus
-Gianna threw up in Mass
-Gianna is very "three" and if you don't know my philosophy on 3 year-olds...ask. :-)

Beautiful Sunday

Today is beautiful! The breeze is brisk, but the sun is warm. Spring will get here after all. It appears it will not arrive until we get slammed by one more storm that appears to be on the way, but I'm hopeful that our days basking in the sun are near.

I took a walk with three of the kids today and was so disappointed when they (well, two of them) wanted to head home so they could watch the movie that Gigi was watching. Poor Gianna got sick in Mass this morning. She told me her belly hurt, but I thought she just had to go to the bathroom. I asked her if that was the case and she nodded, "Yes, I sink so". Nope, not the case. We were one of "those" families who left right after Communion.

Regardless of the bug that has crept indoors I am so thankful for today. I will admit that I'm not resting today. Rather I'm buzzing around the house and doing all of those chores that seem so overwhelming during the week.

Brett is almost finished with the closet (have I mentioned before that home projects always take longer than anticipated?). I am partially moved in, but am looking forward to really moving in and cleaning up our room.

Can I just say that I love this girl? Of course I can...this is my blog.

My closet

Brett has been building me a closet in our room. I've been sharing a closet with Emma and Gigi for almost two years. I'm so thankful that my husband is handy and can do stuff like this. I'm lucky that he enjoys it too. Like any project, it has taken twice as long and three times more money than we thought it would. Like my dad always says, "A project is not worth doing unless you make three trips to the hardware store." I should be moved in by the end of the week!
